Treasure Trooper Register Guide :

Before actually completing the info you need on the official Treasure Trooper site, it would be wise to make a e-mail adress dedicated to using it only for Treasure Trooper (unless you want your personal e-mail adress to fill with a lot of unusefull stuff , even spam ) and to choose a secure password for it.

When I started this service, I began getting spam like crazy in my inbox. What's worse, is I began to get lots of phone calls for health insurance, car insurance, etc. This was... annoying to say the least. Luckily, I have found the solution to BOTH of these problems while still not cheating the service (not giving out fake email/phone #).(See sections #2 and #3 below).


1.Choosing secure passwords for your future needs guide :

I recommend this website to make a secure password ( or just find another one by searching on the internet for: "secure password generator" , or you can also generate one with the RoboForm program we will talk about at section #4). Choose from 8 to 12 letters and check the following:

Show Phonetics: (e.g. Alpha - Bravo - Charlie)
Include Letters: (e.g. abcdef)
Include Mixed Case: (e.g. AbcDEf)
Include Numbers: (e.g. a9b8c7d)

Write down your passwords , and store them where nobody can acces them (everywhere but your computer) , but be carefull NOT TO LOSE THEM .


2.Making a new e-mail adress guide :

Yahoo
Yahoo offers you a huge inbox with a simple and efficient webmail frontend (use a strong password, as shown above). I suggest signing up for an Yahoo email address and giving it out instead of your main one. Your 'spam' address ( as we will call it , since you will get unsolicited mail on it ) works best when used along with SpamGourmet (see below).

SpamGourmet
SpamGourmet is an anti-spam email address that forwards emails to your personal address. Signup for SpamGourmet with a valid email address (preferably your spam Gmail address (see above)) and then when a form asks you for your email simply enter in someword.x.user@spamgourmet.com instead of your email address. For example, say I am going to signup for the Blockbuster free trial, instead of giving them my email address I give them blockbuster.5.@spamgourmet.com. This means that blockbuster is allowed to email me 5 times. If they try emailing me more than 5 times, SpamGourmet just deletes the message and doesn't forward it. Some services block SpamGourmet email addresses, so try with and if that doesn't work try without.


3.Making a voice mail box guide :

K7 Unified Messaging
K7.net offers you a free voice fax and mail box with a phone number of your choice with the area code of 206. Its very fast and easy to signup, and the number works instantly. The phone messages can either be stored on k7.net (up to 20 messages) or forwarded to your email, or both. With K7.net they will attempt to give you a vanity number, or you can choose to just have a random one. The only downside to this service is your number has to be in the 206 area code and you can not use customized greetings. I recommend you use K7 for a fax number.


4.Getting other usefull tools:

Mozilla Firefox
Mozilla Firefox is a free, open source, cross-platform, graphical web browser.It's one of the best available so far , and it way saffer to use then InternetExplorer,as it will protect you much better from keyloggers and other malware.It offers numerous features that will help you speed up whatever work you have to do: tabbed browsing, pop-up blocker, integrated search, live bookmarks, automatic updates etc.
However, you still need a firewall and a antivirus program updated , to keep you safe.(For improved security you could also try a Unix OS , as I am.I can recommend you Ubuntu).

RoboForm
RoboForm is an automatic form filler. It works with Internet Explorer and FireFox. It stores your personal info, and can also login information. It has a very useful built-in random password generator. I highly recommend this program to anyone who uses the internet as it will make your life a whole lot easier.
